Diet Keto is safe?

A ketosis is actually a mild form of ketoacidosis, which is a very dangerous complication of type 1 diabetes. But does that mean ketosis is also dangerous? Not necessarily.

Experts generally agree that the keto diet, although not recommended for everyone, is generally safe.

Nutritionist and founder of Nosh Detox, Geeta Sidhu-Robb, explains, this diet is famous for having a source of calories from protein and fat, as opposed to carbohydrates and sugars for weight loss and increased energy, a state of ketosis has been claimed to help various health problems.

"But it's not without criticism, as the safe longevity of this method. But what must be said is that the ketogenic diet is definitely safe and is a proper diet technique," he said.

He added, before starting the keto diet, it is important to do research on your own body.

"Prepare a meal plan and choose the best quality products, even if this requires you to spend more money, considering the keto diet should not be a long-term plan," he said.

And that's the point of the problem. Experts seem to agree that the keto diet is safe and feasible when it is only used in the short term. According to some people, letting your body in a state of ketosis indefinitely can cause extreme fatigue, muscle loss, and even make it harder for you to lose weight.

Some experts even warn that a long-term keto diet can damage the heart muscle. Geeta said that there were also other concerns with consuming high-volume meat in this diet.

"Although this diet plan means that people end up eating healthier fats, less sugar and seeing their insulin levels soften, often they only depend on saturated animal fat in meat," Geeta told Metro.

This is why the vegan variation of the keto diet is a much healthier choice because you can still lose weight and get health benefits from the keto diet.

Unfortunately, not choosing harmful fats in meat is quite difficult to avoid when you reduce carbohydrates almost completely.

"Vegan ketosis will keep plant-based healthy nutrients awake. The keto diet will provide the best results when applied between one and two weeks at a time. That certainly doesn't have to be a long-term diet method," he said.
