6 These Foods are Good for Diabetics:

1. Broccoli

Broccoli sprouts contain compounds known as sulforaphane.

These natural compounds can increase blood sugar levels and help maintain stable sugar levels.

2. Celery

Celery, like many fruits (apples, apricots, blueberries, pears, and purple grapes), contains a compound known as flavonol, which research in the Journal of Nutrition shows can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by 26 percent.

While high-sugar natural fruits may not be suitable for all diabetics, low-sugar celery and an excellent choice for anyone.

3. Cinnamon

Research published in the Annals of Family Medicine found that even a little splash of cinnamon can help regulate blood sugar levels.

4. Eggs

Research published in Endocrine Journal found that vitamin A deficiency can actually be the root of diabetes.

The scientists found that vitamin A is very important for the functioning of pancreatic beta cells.

These beta cells are responsible for producing insulin, which will help regulate blood sugar levels.

Many foods such as squash, green vegetables, carrots, and other orange and green vegetables contain beta carotene, a precursor of vitamin A which is very good for those who try to prevent the disease.

However, many people with full-blown diabetes have difficulty converting nutrients to vitamin A which then produces deficiencies that can worsen the condition of diabetes.

It may be necessary to get vitamin A directly from eggs or fish sources.

5. Fish

Most fatty fish are good sources of vitamin A, making these foods a good choice for diabetics.

Also, vitamin D deficiency has been associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and can be a factor in worsening diabetes conditions. Most types of fatty fish are also good sources of vitamin D.

6. Ginger

Fresh ginger can help diabetes by increasing the body's response to insulin.

Insulin is secreted by the pancreas to help regulate blood sugar levels.

Research published in Complementary Therapies in Medicine found that ginger is effective in the treatment of diabetes and insulin resistance.
